NuroCity Underground

Underground

The NuroCity Underground highlights the deep, inner brain structures such as  parts of the Limbic System, Basal Ganglia, & more.

Cingul G Complex (Cingulate Gyrus)

AI created this version of the cingulate gyrus as a factory complex in NuroCity.

The brain cingulate gyrus "plays a crucial role in regulating emotions, pain processing, and behavior, acting as a connecting hub for emotional, sensory, and action processing."

In the Nuro world the buildings are the Cingul G Complex.

    Ivory Towers (Caudate Nucleus)

Part of the basal ganglia the caudate nucleus is a deep brain structure.

It is involved in planning the execution of movement, learning, memory, reward, motivation, emotion, & romantic interaction (NIH). The caudate nucleus structures largely control voluntary skeletal movement. In the nuroworld it is  ivory buildings.

      (Globus Pallidus)

The globus pallidus, a part of the basal ganglia, primarily functions in controlling movement and modulating other brain functions like cognition and emotion.

        (Subthalmic Nucleus)

Part of the basal ganglia, the subthalmic nucleus plays a crucial role in modulating movement, particularly by influencing the indirect pathway of the basal ganglia, which is involved in inhibiting unwanted movements.

          SubNi Factory (Substantia Nigra)

The substantia nigra is a horseshoe shaped structure of the brain that is a major production center of the neurochemical dopamine.

            Thal Bridge (Thalamus)

Located deep within the brain, the thalamus consists of two oval masses, one in each hemisphere, connected by a bridge.

The thalamus acts as a relay station for sensory information (except smell) before it's sent to the cerebral cortex.

It also plays a role in motor control, consciousness, and alertness.

              Hypo Thal Cone (Hypothalamus)

A cone-shaped structure, the hypothalamus is a key regulator of homeostasis, maintaining a stable internal environment & hormone regulation. It helps integrate functions of the autonomic nervous system which controls involuntary functions like heart rate, digestion, body temperature, hunger, thirst, & sleep-wake cycles

                Amy Retreat Centers (Amygdala)

The amygdala plays a major roll in regulating emotions in the brain. Here is the amygdala imagined as a retreat center.

                  Hippo Campus (Hippocampus)

The hippocampus is a major memory center of the brain.

In the NURONS world the hippocampus is the Hippo Campus, like a university or major learning center.
